Blizzard’s latest update to Overwatch isn’t a huge one, but it does make a couple of notable changes: The number of Plays of the Game featuring Mercy’s Resurrection ability has gone down, for one, and the payload speed on the Eichenwalde map has gone up.
Other changes listed in the patch notes include the addition of a Competitive Tier legends to the Competitive Play information screen, and a new Match Complete splash screen in place of the Round Complete splash in Competitive matches. A bug that prevented the Triple Kill announcement from playing after a kill streak of three or more has been fixed, as has one that could cause the wrong arrow (or no arrow at all) to appear on Hanzo’s bow. Reaper is also no longer able to Shadow Step to “unintended locations” on the Hollywood map, and a bug that prevented Junkrat’s RIP-Tire from receiving credits for kills, achievements, and other stats has also been taken care of.
Several other issues that caused some players to obtain a higher skill ranking than they should have are also fixed, and Blizzard said that those who were affected—a “very small number”—will have their ratings adjusted accordingly, something to keep in mind if yours suddenly and inexplicably drops.
It’s a fairly small patch as these things go, but bigger changes are coming: You can read about what Blizzard has in mind for the future of Overwatch right here.
