Grand Theft Auto V was originally released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox One back in 2013. The game was a huge success and has since been released on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game has often done well in the UK game charts since its release, but now it is actually back in the top spot.

GTA V has dethroned Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens which had a very strong launch and was No. 1 for over a month. The last time GTA V was top of the charts was back in March 2015.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens has moved down to third place whilst Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has moved up to second. Overwatch sits in fourth and FIFA 16 comes in third.

The top 20 is as follows:

1. GRAND THEFT AUTO V
2. UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF’S END
3. LEGO STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS
4. OVERWATCH
5. FIFA 16
6. ROCKET LEAGUE
7. DOOM
8. CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS III
9. RATCHET & CLANK
10. MINECRAFT: XBOX EDITION
11. TOM CLANCY’S THE DIVISION
12. STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT
13. LEGO MARVEL AVENGERS
14. MINECRAFT: STORY MODE
15. EA SPORTS UFC 2
16. TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW 6: SIEGE
17. POKEMON ALPHA SAPPHIRE
18. LEGO JURASSIC WORLD
19. FALLOUT 4
20. POKEMON OMEGA RUBY

The charts will no doubt be shaken up over the next week as we see the release of the highly anticipated No Man’s Sky. GTA V will have to fight very hard to remain at the top for a second week running.
