Pokemon Go trainers were treated to a Halloween event 2017 reveal yesterday after much anticipaction.

As expected, the Pokemon Go Halloween event 2017 will bring with the update the first Gen 3 Pokemon before a wider release date later this year.

And this year the Pokemon Go Halloween fun will last MUCH longer than in 2016.

Niantic confirmed the release date for Pokemon Go Halloween and Gen 3 on Thursday, with the big update dropping sooner than expected on iOS and Android phones.

Trainers have also been given a glimpse of which Gen 3 pocket monsters they’ll be able to catch in Pokemon Go once the Halloween event starts.

Last year the Halloween event was the first event to ever take place in Pokemon Go, but this year it’s starting almost a WEEK earlier.

To whet fans’ appetites, a teaser trailer for the Pokemon Go Halloween event 2017 was released.

It promised “more spooky Pokemon” are heading to the smash hit AR game and gave fans a glimpse of the new Ghost Pokemon heading to Pokemon Go.

The teaser trailer also showed a cute new Halloween themed outfit that Pikachi will get to wear during the Pokemon Go Halloween event.

The Pokemon Go Halloween event 2017 all kicks off on iOS and Android on Friday October 20.

Niantic will start the big event at 12pm PDT / 6pm BST, it was revealed on the Pokemon Go Live website.

The Pokemon Go Halloween event is starting this year almost a week earlier than last year.

In 2016, Pokemon Go Halloween festivities all began on October 26 and finished shortly afterwards on November 1.

This year, the Pokemon Go Halloween event will be running for much longer.

The Pokemon Go Halloween event 2017 has an end date of November 2.

This means the Pokemon Go Halloween festivities are running for almost two weeks this year.

This is in comparison to last year, when the Pokemon Go Halloween event lasted for less than a week.

The Pokemon Go Halloween fun this year will all finish up at 1pm PDT on November 2 2017.

WHEN WILL GEN 3 POKEMON BE HEADING TO POKEMON GO? HAS A RELEASE DATE BEEN REVEALED?

The first Gen 3 Pokemon will be heading to Pokemon Go when the Halloween event kicks off on Friday October 20.

These Gen 3 Pokemon will be Ghost-type pocket monsters before the rest of the Gen 3 creatures go live at a later date in the iOS and Android game.

Niantic have said that more Gen 3 Pokemon will start to appear in Pokemon Go from early December.

WHAT GEN 3 POKEMON WILL I BE ABLE TO CATCH DURING THE POKEMON GO HALLOWEEN EVENT 2017?

The Pokemon Go Halloween event teaser trailer gave a glimpse of some of the Gen 3 Ghost Pokemon trainers will be able to catch.

The teaser trailer was posted by the official Pokemon Go Twitter account on Thursday.

Alongside the clip, the account tweeted: “Gastly and Cubone are back again for #PokemonGOHalloween, and this time, they’re bringing a few friends.”

Gen 3 Pokemon featured in the trailer include Sableye, Banette, Duskull and Dusclops.

Gen 3 Pokemon are the pocket monsters that first appeared in Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire back on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2002.
