Players have yet to discover all of Pokémon Go’s Easter eggs, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke teased during a San Diego Comic-Con panel held yesterday. These include, among others, the game’s four biggest legendaries: Aritcuno, Moltres, Zapdos and Mewtwo.

“There are a certain set of Pokémon in the game right now,” Hanke told moderator Chris Hardwick on stage; an archive of their conversation is on Periscope. “There are some rare ones that haven’t showed up yet that will be showing up.”

Many fans in attendance had hoped that one or more of these rare finds would turn up during Comic-Con. That wasn’t the case, despite the belief that these Pokémon would be released as special event monsters in time for Pokémon Go’s first big convention appearance.

“If I could summon a Pokemon for you here right now, I would,” Hanke told the disappointed crowd during the question and answer session. “We’re working hard. We haven’t rolled the game out everywhere yet, we’re adding countries every day. We’re gonna get there, but there’s no new Pokémon here today.”

Players can take heart that there are other undiscovered secrets to find, one of which players have already figured out. An anime-inspired method of evolving the popular Eevee character made the rounds online earlier this month, and Hanke confirmed that it is, in fact, real.

“If you name your Eevee properly, you can control how it’s gonna evolve,” Hanke said, adding, “There might be a few other Easter eggs buried in there yet to be discovered.”

Pokémon Go is still in its infancy, and Hanke said that he saw the game as a massively multiplayer online game that Niantic Labs would support and add to for years to come. Forthcoming additions he mentioned during the panel include the previously announced trading feature, new Pokémon and PokéStop customizations, including giving these locations Pokémon Center-style healing capabilities.

Also coming are expanded roles for the team leaders, whose character designs were unveiled during the panel. The heads of Team Valor, Mystic and Instinct will offer trainers advice in later iterations, creating a relationship with the player more akin to the traditional game. Teams will also play a role into the reveal of the legendary birds, Hanke said.

As for incoming changes, Hanke talked multiple times about the enduring server problems. Those are constantly being worked on, he said, as are other bugs — namely the “three-step glitch” that renders nearby Pokémon tracking useless. Hanke also asked players to “be nice” and not claim empty gyms before their rightful owners can.

There’s no timetable yet for Pokémon Go’s next big evolution. Players are encouraged to continue along on their journeys, searching far and wide for new Pokémon to understand — and the secrets they’re keeping inside.
